We work with businesses to enable them to be more successful. We use two approaches: training coaching
Training
teaches principles This model recognises that most business training is like a sheep dip: a quick dunking and then nobody mentions the subject again. We believe coaching is essential if the client is to maximise the benefits from their expenditure on training. Coaching without training just ends up by including elements of training in the coaching session anyway - this is an unfocussed and inefficient approach.
Training For organisations big enough to support inhouse training, this approach is always recommended. It enables us to tailor the training to the needs of the particular client and the specific individuals who will be trained. A substantial amount of time is spent on this preparation and we need the client to spend time helping us with this. At east one followup coaching session is included, even for those clients who don't want to invest in a proper coaching programme. Training groups are typically 8 to 16 people. Smaller organisations can send staff on our public courses (and we are happy to discuss ad hoc arrangements where these are possible). emotionalintelligenceatwork does not run its courses. We are building a network of joint ventures with training companies and other organisations who will promote, administer and host our courses. Currently, we are promoted by The Excellent Network and our next course with them is on 27 April in Bristol: Innovative communication techniques.
Coaching Coaching can only be carried out inhouse. We coach small businesses and reasonably autonomous teams in larger organisations. We coach everyone in the business or team, and we coach all functional areas. Emotional intelligence is about relationships between people, so it doesn't make sense to exclude some of the people! Although this means we go beyond the borders of emotional intelligence we offer this because (a) we can and (b) it is the most useful way of coaching a business. Coaching sessions are therefore half a day or a whole day. Exceptionally we will consider coaching individuals in smaller timeslots.
