Most courses on communication skills focus on the communicator. But communication is a two way street, and this course focuses on the people you need to communicate with. What do you need to know about them? How will you use this knowledge to ensure that your communication with them is as effective as possible?

This course is relevant to any situation where two or more people need to communicate. It could be:

- a meeting at which decisions need to be reached
- an email detailing some information
- a presentation to a group
- a phone call
- a formal letter to a client
- a thousand other situations

This course does not specifically teach you how to write a better email, or how to prepare yourself to give a public presentation. What it teaches are principles which you can use in all communications - whether written or oral, whether to one person or to a group, whether you know who the audience is or you don’t. You can use the principles to work out for yourself how to write a better email but also do a million other things which can’t all be covered on a one day course.

Examples

  • One person used these techniques to terminate a three month argument with a client who wouldn’t pay an invoice. The client paid up two days later.

  • Another used them to structure sales meetings so that he could close them successfully.

  • One board of directors used them to ensure that board meetings were half their previous length and, unlike previously, everyone felt their contribution was made use of.

    Follow up coaching session

Included in the cost of the course is a one hour follow up one-to-one coaching session. This is an essential, but entirely voluntary, part of the training process. The course teaches principles to a group, the coaching session then enables each delegate to work on how to use these principles in their own work.

    Who should attend?

Anyone who wants to communicate more effectively.

    What are the objectives?

  • Delegates will acquire a practical set of tools to enable them to communicate more effectively

  • Delegates will gain insight and understanding to underpin the use of these tools

What are the concepts behind this course?

This course is derived from three sources: Fundamentals of success, NLP and analytical psychology. Fundamentals of success is a ground-breaking and transformative programme developed by VisionWorks and based on thirty years’ experience in providing personal growth and development training.

  • Personality profiles of your audience and how to use them to tailor your communication

  • Your use of language, and how to listen to what people are saying to you
